ROCKET 101 Concert Announcement
ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd

September 9th at Jerry Uht Park
Rock Legends Join Forces for One Show in Erie, PA Sunday, September 9th, Rock Legends Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top join forces for one incredible show at Jerry Uht Park in Erie, PA. Beyond the tragedy, the history, the raging guitars and the killer songs, ultimately, Lynyrd Skynyrd is about an indomitable will, about survival of spirit; unbowed uniquely American, stubbornly resolute. Lynyrd Skynyrd has endured, despite all odds, through death and disaster, as the signature rock group of America's working people. Musicians as diverse as Kid Rock, Metallica and Travis Tritt pledge allegiance to the Skynyrd sound, and a new wave of hard rocking youngsters value Lynyrd Skynyrd above all else.

Skynyrd has always managed to balance its kickass party anthems with messages that offer solace against life's troubles and hope for a better future. "I hope we can help some people through their bad times with our music," says Johnny Van Zant. "That's what music's all about anyway. People may say, 'they need the money,' well I don't think any of us need the money." It's just that we love the music, it's bigger than money, it's not even about that any more. We have to make a living, sure, but it's about the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There's nothing like getting out there playing a great show with Skynyrd and seeing people love this music." Lynyrd Skynyrd Hits include; "Red White & Blue," "Gimme Back My Bullets," "Sweet Home Alabama," "Freebird," "Saturday Night Special," "What's Your Name," "Gimme Three Steps," and so many more.

Since Storming out of Houston in 1969, ZZ Top - Billy F. Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill - has been going full speed, playing their own unique style of rock'n'roll with various shades of the blues for fans around the world ever since. Sometimes their licks have been as raw as a Beale Street corner, other times they've been dressed up with the best colors that modern technology can provide, but always unmistakable ZZ Top.

The remarkable career of "that little band from Texas" spans nearly three decades now, and they remain one of the world's most popular and enduring bands. With 16 album releases that have produced an extraordinary catalog of distinctive songs; phenomenal touring success, setting and breaking concert attendance records throughout the world; and unforgettable and iconic imagery of beards, cars, Harleys, girls, and a keychain, ZZ Top has carved out it's own special niche in music.

A whole new generation discovered ZZ Top during the '80s with the release of the multi-platinum Eliminator and Afterburner albums, and a string of hit singles - and now-classic videos - that included "Gimme All Your Lovin," "Sharp Dressed Man," "Legs," and "Rough Boy." The band had begin to tour Europe for the first time in the early part of the decade, but it was the world tours for Eliminator and Afterburner that propelled them into international superstardom.
