| Rocket 101 first began to broadcast, I'd been working in graphic design, I enjoyed what I heard on Rocket, so I put together a few concept sketches and brought them out to the station when it was in North East. Rick Rambaldo liked a few of the concepts and from there I designed the original Rocket 101 crest logo and a lot of other promotional materials, shirt designs, etc.
Months later, I was lucky enough to have a chance to do some part time on-air weekend shifts. As fate would have it, when the advertising agency I was working for went out of business, a position became available for the overnight (Midnight to 6am) shift. This then led to the 7-Midnight position. I really enjoyed being on-air, but my favorite part of the position was doing the commercial production work. Those are skills I continue to use in audio and video editing.
After leaving Rocket 101 to return to the field of graphic design, I spent many years as art director for an educational publisher. I'm currently a Senior Art Director at a local marketing and design firm. Also in the years since leaving Rocket, I got married and have had two wonderful children.
I still love radio (and Rocket), and I certainly miss it. I had a great time and met many great people. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity.
